Dubai's heat and dust are hard on computers. Whether you use a custom gaming PC or a work desktop, regular maintenance prevents performance drops, instability, and expensive failures. The basics still matter more than flashy upgrades.
1. Dust cleaning is the highest-value task
Dust buildup remains the number one reason systems overheat. Fans, filters, heat sinks, and vents all collect fine dust over time. Cleaning every few months can materially improve temperatures and prolong hardware life.
2. Monitor your temperatures
Use a hardware monitor and check thermals under load. If your CPU or GPU is regularly running too hot, that is a maintenance problem, not just a number on a screen. Cleaning, airflow changes, or fresh thermal paste often solve it.
3. Keep your SSD healthy
Storage is fast now, but not invincible. Leave free space available and keep an eye on health indicators. If your drive starts warning, back up immediately and replace it before the problem turns into data loss.
4. Updates matter, but do them carefully
Operating system and driver updates help, but day-one installs are not always the best move. Restore points and measured rollout still make sense, especially on systems you depend on for work.
5. Power protection is cheaper than repairs
A good surge protector or UPS costs much less than replacing damaged components. That is particularly true when systems are under heavy load during warmer months.
If your PC is shutting down, artifacting, or making unusual noise, stop pushing it and use the repair path before the issue cascades into something bigger.
